This seminar will be an introduction to the field of tensor networks, the generalization of linear algebra to objects with more than one (vectors) or two (matrices) indices. Extraordinary powerful numerical algorithms have emerged in the last two decades with a wide range of applications ranging from solving quantum magnetism problems, simulating quantum computers, solving partial differential equations, and more. I will walk you through the main concepts and show how you could get started and use these approaches for your own computational problems.
