Physics Laboratory
The Physics Laboratory is a joint research unit with the ENS of Lyon and the CNRS as supervisors. Activities of the Physics Laboratory cover various fields, from statistical physics to hydrodynamic turbulence, including also mathematical physics and signal processing but also soft and condensed matter. This multidisciplinary approach is particularly fostered by the strong association with the physics teaching activities at ENS de Lyon.
Centre de Recherche Astrophysique de Lyon
The Centre de Recherche Astrophysique de Lyon (CRAL) is under the joint supervision of the University Claude Bernard Lyon 1, the ENS of Lyon and the CNRS. CRAL is a laboratory working on fundamental research in astrophysics and in developing instrumentations for major observatories. CRAL has about 30 researchers, 20 engineers, technicians and administrative staff, and 30 doctoral, post-doctoral and fixed-term contracts.
