Within the framework of the new SDM Master program, the first thematic research school was proposed and organized by Antoine Venaille on the theme of 'Geophysical Fluid Dynamics'.
With his colleagues from the Physics Laboratory of the ENS of Lyon, Antoine Venaille had prepared an ambitious program over 5 days, mixing lectures in the morning and experimental or numerical projects in the afternoon, based on a scientific theme per day: Waves, then Oceans, Atmosphere, Cryosphere and Predictability.
About twenty students (Master 2 or PhD) attended this Research School and participated in experimental projects developed around research experiments of stratified fluids, rotating fluids, convection in helium or numerical simulations based on models of oceanic circulation or atmospheric dynamics.
The M2 students will present their projects to the M1 students on February 23rd!
