The teaching at the ENS is diverse and varied, which makes it a very enriching training from a scientific but also a personal point of view. We are lucky to have many subjects in the different departments and it is always a pleasure to talk with literary people, biologists, computer scientists... Don't hesitate to talk with a lot of people, especially those different from you. This open-mindedness is not necessarily the same everywhere.

Moreover, there are also alternative paths (CNRS, Agrégation) to the ENS, as well as double degrees to engineering schools. This path can be very enriching for people who want to work on more applied subjects. It may seem complicated because we generally have little contact with people in companies, but you shouldn't be afraid to take the plunge. In any job, the first months are used to be trained and with the method and the rigor acquired at the ENS, you will be able to adapt very quickly to changing and complex work environments! A real strength sought after by companies.
