I entered the ENSL by narrowly missing the competitive examination, thanks to the "auditeur libre" program, thinking I would take the agrégation to be a teacher in CPGE. In the end, the practical work and my first internship gave me a taste for experimental research. I first thought of going into granular media, probably because of the enthusiasm of the lecturers who were part of the soft matter team at the Physics Lab. The M1 then gave me a taste for fluid mechanics. Being able to cross the "street" to visit the lab, and being lucky enough to bump into Mickaël Bourgoin and Romain Volk in the corridors, who showed me their experiments without counting their time, made me discover the world of turbulence. I then chose the options in M2 according to this new curiosity, and I continued with great pleasure on an experimental thesis with Romain!
